Jacquelyn Denton Dulus
January 15, 1941 - December 20, 2022

Jacquelyn Denton Dulus, age 81, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, storyteller, as well as friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on December 20th. She was a life-long resident of Valley Mills, TX, a graduate of Valley Mills High School and a devoted member of the First United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at the Valley Mills First United Methodist Church with Pastor Joy Fottori officiating. Interment will be in the Valley Mills Cemetery under the direction of Foss Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Visitation will be Monday 5 - 7 P. M. at the funeral home.

She was born January 15, 1941 in Waco, Texas, and was the first born to Grace and Jack Denton.

Jackie was one of a kind. She was a sunflower spreading light, joy, love and empathy to all those around her. Sometimes she was more like a fire lily, filling the room with her wit, her views on life, and her approval (or maybe disapproval). While wise and often outspoken, Jackie had a heart of gold. She loved and supported all of her family and had a particular way with the kiddos. She was generous, thoughtful and playful with the youngest in her tribe.

She worked hard her entire life and had a successful career at Texas Farm Bureau. She was a wiz at keno and holding a poker face under any circumstance. Jackie had a green thumb, a love for sewing and crafting, reading, and an unparalleled affinity for shiny jewelry. She could be a charmer with a bit of a silver-tongue, and had a contagious, full and joyful laugh. Jackie knew the ways of the world, whether orthodox or not…her guidance was generally on point, whether you wanted it or not. She loved and cared deeply for her family, her community, and her God.

She is preceded in death by her parents Grace and Jack Denton and her brother Harry Dan Denton. She is survived by her husband of 49 years: Tom Dulus, her siblings: Jim Denton and Carolyn Sockwell, her children: Jon Dulus and his wife Dawn, and Alyssa Dulus, her grandchildren: Kendyl and Parker Dulus, and many loved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Jackie and her family would like to thank the nurses, doctors, friends and caregivers that have given their time, effort, sympathy, heart-felt smiles, and love over the past few weeks.

The family will receive friends on Monday December 26th from 5:00pm – 7:00pm at Foss Funeral Home in Valley Mills with funeral services to follow on Tuesday, December 27, 2:00pm at the Valley Mills United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be donated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
