Jacqueline (Jackie) Lewis
March 24, 1935 ~ June 10, 2023

Jackie Lewis, 88, of Crawford, Texas, passed away on June 10, 2023, with her family by her side.

Jackie was born on March 24, 1935, to Allen P. Box and Reba Shelton Box in Salmon, Texas. Jackie's early life was spent in Houston, Texas, and other areas around Texas before she settled in the Crawford area in 1948. She married Edward Lewis of Crawford, Texas on October 1, 1949, a marriage which lasted 64 years, 4 months, and 14 days until his death on February 14, 2014. Her parents, sister Delana Gilbert, and brothers Allen Box and Billy Box preceded her in death.

She is survived by Children: Eddie Geron Lewis, Dede Athey, and Lori Kramer. Grandchildren: Jennifer Stone and husband Jeff Stone, Christopher Athey, Lindy Johnson and husband Robert Johnson, and Adair Salinas and husband Oracio Salinas. Great grandchildren: Travis Stone and Tawny Gauthier;  Triston, Tavin, and Tacie Johnson; Mayson and Avery Gauthier; and Joaquin, Aurora, and Artemis Salinas. Sisters-in-law: Ruth Box and Irma Box. Devoted friends: Bubba and Donna Athey.

Jackie enjoyed many years of camping and fishing with Ed. She enjoyed all types of crafts including sewing, crocheting, knitting, and quilting.  She was an excellent cook and very well-known for her cakes and pies.  Jackie also enjoyed oil painting and gardening.  Jackie enjoyed working on her family's genealogy and was an avid reader.  She always had a book in her hand.
Jackie held several positions while working. The most enjoyable was with Power & Son Investments for almost 20 years before retiring in 2002.

Jackie was loved and will be greatly missed by all her loved ones.  Jackie's visitation will be held at Foss Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Valley Mills, Texas, on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, from 4-6 pm.  A graveside funeral will be held Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at 11 AM at Crawford Cemetery in Crawford, Texas.
