Jackie was born November 15, 1946 in Waco, Texas to Fleno Junior and Zuma Jo (Orr) Hargrove. Jackie worked at Smead Manufacturing for 37 years until her retirement. She loved spending time with her family but most of all she loved spoiling her grandkids, never missing an opportunity to watch their sporting events, chauffeuring them to doctor and dentist appoints, and always making sure they had custom birthday cakes with their favorite theme every year. Gambling was one of her favorite pastimes and she passed that on to a number of her grandkids by taking them for their 18th birthday to Winstar. Christmas was her favorite time of the year and she passed this love onto all of her grandkids with handmade treats, stockings full of candy, and a tree full of presents every Christmas Eve. Jackie was a longtime member of St John Lutheran Church Coryell City.
She is preceded in death by her parents Fleno Junior Hargrove, Zuma Jo Burgess and Wilton Burgess; and one granddaughter Stephanie Pierce.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Ernest Bartels of Mosheim; three sons and daughter-in-law's, Duane and Nancy Pierce of Moshiem, Eric and Peggy Pierce of Valley Mills, and Steven and Hannah Bartels of Mosheim; one daughter and son-in-law Charlotte and AD (Bubba) Stephens of Valley Mills. Three brothers and sisters-in-law's James Thomas and Sheila Hargrove of Quitman, Andrew Polston of McGregor, and John and Donna Polston of Moody; Two sisters and bother-in-laws Linda and Ray Pierce of McGregor and Donna and Norman Malcik of Belton, 9 grandchildren and two great-grandsons and a host of nieces and nephews.
