Ira Lynn Lewis, of Whitney, died Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at local hospital. Funeral service will be 2 P.M. Saturday 29, 2022, at the Valley Mills First Baptist Church with Dr. John Wheatley officiating under the direction Foss Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Visitation will be 1 - 2 P.M. just prior to the funeral service.

Lynn was born October 19, 1944 to Ira and Ruth Lewis in Waco, Tx. He worked on the family farm growing up, then became a long-haul truck driver. He married Betty Curton in 1970 and later divorced. He, along with his dad, helped establish the Speegleville Volunteer Fire Department. He later worked for Mid-Tex Propane, as a rancher, for Bosque County Road Department, and retired from McLennan County Road Department in 2012.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three nephews, and many beloved extended family members.

He is survived by two daughters; Christy Lewis, of Whitney, and Kim Mathis and husband, Christian, of Poulsbo, Washington. Four grandchildren; Jena Roberts and Nolan Lewis of Whitney; Kalee Mathis of Kodiak, Alaska and McKinley Mathis of Poulsbo, Washington; his brother James Lewis (Kaye) of Valley Mills; his sister, Faye Hurl (Colin) of McPherson, Kansas; nieces and nephews; as well as many, whom, thought of him as a dad.
