Hossein "Hoss" Karimi

Hossein "Hoss" Karimi, age 87, of Valley Mills, passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2017, peacefully at home surrounded by his wife and friends.  Per his request, no services will be held.

Hoss was born in Teheran, Iran on June 10, 1930,  He came to the United States when he was 18 years old to attend Texas Tech and remained in the United States, became a citizen in 1961.   The majority of his career was spent working for the Dept. of the Air Force, as a civilian, first at Strategic Air Command in Omaha, Nebraska and then at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. in the Latin Division as a manager.  He retired in 1993 when he and his wife, Margareth, moved to Waco and then in 1994 to Valley Mills.  His favorite hobby was being a ham radio operator for over 45 years.  His radio friends span the whole United States from on coast to the other.  Hoss was preceded in death by his parents, Moloud Shojai and Mohammed Karimi.

He is survived by his wife, Margareth; children, Shila Johnson and her husband Jackson, Tina Taubenheim and her husband Toby, Ron Karimi and his wife Kristin; his sister Forough Karimi and grandchildren, great grandchildren, many nieces and nehews.  As well as his many, many friends, here in Waco area and all across the country.  The family would like to thank Providence Hospice, Whitney Office, particularly Julie, Brenda, Karen and Ed and all the others in the office for their professional care, warmth, understanding and being there when they were needed the most.
