Helen Ruth (Finke) Young, age 77, of Crowley, Texas, passed from this earthly life and into the arms of Jesus on Feb. 8, 2016. Funeral services will be 2 P.M. Thursday, Feb. 11th at the Valley Mills First Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Valley Mills Cemetery under the direction of Foss Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 P.M. on the day of the service at the church. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 2630 West Freeway, Ste. 100, Ft. Worth, Tx. 76102.
Ruth was born June 28, 1938, at home near Valley Mills to Willie Ernest "Bill" Finke and Pauline Darby Finke. She was baptized in Steele Creek. Ruth was a 1956 graduate of Morgan High School where she was salutatorian. Ruth worked for Braniff Airlines from 1958 until 1982 beginning as a keypunch operator and later in the accounting department. She met and fell in love with Melvin S. Young and they were married on April 27, 1996, at East Grand Baptist Church, Dallas, Texas. She was a member of South Burleson Baptist Church. She loved singing in the choir, traveling and family history.
Survivors included her husband, Mel; a sister Ann Schildge of San Jose, California; 2 nieces, a nephew, many cousins, church family and other friends.
