Obituary

Hazel (Peggy) Lee Teague

September 1, 1934 – February 25, 2018

Survived by her son, Roy A. Teague Jr and wife Becky, 6 grandchildren, Felicia, Wendy, Truett, Olivia, Eliott, & Millie, 5 great grandchildren, Alexander, Victoria, Daniel, Kieran & Rosalie, and one great great grandson, Baby Jordan, and a host of nieces and nephews!

To everyone that knew mom, she was Peggy, Aunt Peggy, or Moms.  Dad often referred to her as "Peggy Jane." And of course Charlie and I called her Mom, and I always greeted her in these last few years (as she and Dad were precious members of our household the past 5.5 years) with "Good Morning Mother Dear" and a kiss on the forehead. She always replied "I needed that."

As a very young boy (2-3 years old) I remember several things like sitting on the counter watching her cook different things. One of our favorite things was when she would make us a rainbow milkshake! It was simply milk with some sugar and then she'd allow us to pick a food color to add to it for a fun color! We loved them too!

Mom was a bookkeeper for some 50 years for various companies until she retired. I remember she could light up a calculator without ever looking at it until she finished all of the numbers. I always asked myself "How does she do that?"

As only a mother can, she cared for Charlie (my younger brother) who was very ill, for about 18 months until he breathed his last breath. She cared for Dad the very same way, keeping his laundry fresh, preparing his pillbox each week, fixing him a snack during the day when he'd look at her while sitting in our sunroom and say "I'M hungry." She was just like Granny (her mother) who seemed to need something to do throughout the day.

When we lived in Corpus Christi she and Aunt Sidney, Aunt Barbara or Granny would take us all to the beach next to the T-Head Piers. When she and Dad needed to do shopping on Saturdays she would drop us off at the skating rink and we'd skate for hours it seemed. When I'd take off my skates I remember my legs feeling like I was still on roller skates!

I could go on and on with memories of Mom as each of you could as well. Mom and Dad would have been married 65 years this past January 16th. Mom loved us and pretty much everyone she knew unconditionally, just as our Lord Himself.

Faithful in her Love, her Care and her every Responsibility in life as a wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend.  That was my Mother and I am so grateful our Lord chose her to be my Mom, my friend… and yours too!

We love and miss you so much Mother Dear, but we look forward to a magnificent family reunion in Heaven with our Lord Jesus Christ!

"He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, no crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away."                                                                                             Revelation 21: 4
