Hazel Mary (Holmes) Hawkins, age 97,  of Crawford, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2016, in Weatherford. Service will  be 10:30 A.M. Monday, March 21st  at First United Methodist Church, Crawford, Texas, with Rev. Robin Young officiating. Burial to follow at the Crawford Cemetery  under direction of  Foss Funeral Home and Cremation Center.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 20, 2016 from 4-6 P.M. at the First United Methodist Church in Crawford.  Memorials may be made to the charity of ones choice.

Hazel was born September 9, 1918, in Crawford, to Everett L. and Alma (Bost) Holmes. She attended elementary school in Valley Mills and high school in Crawford. She married Claude Hawkins in 1938.  She was a long time member of First United Methodist Church of Crawford. Hazel loved ceramics, playing dominos, gardening and attending her beloved church.

Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, husband and  a granddaughter Ginger Martin and great-granddaughter Bethani Stanford.

She is survived by her daughters; LaJuana Westerfield of Crawford, Arleen Atkins of Aledo; 2 brothers Joe Holmes and wife Louise, Jimmy  Holmes and wife Lori; a sister Mearle Morgan; three grandchildren; Lane Westerfield and wife Greta ,  Brady Atkins and wife Kristina,  Ashley Atkins; and nine great-grandchildren.
