Harry M. Strawser Jr.

Harry M. Strawser Jr., age 78, of Valley Mills, Texas, went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, August 21, 2019, at Providence Hospice.  A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 14, at 11 a.m., at the First Baptist Church of Valley Mills with full military honors under the direction of Foss Funeral Home and Cremation Center.

Visitation will occur an hour prior to the memorial service in the Sanctuary of First Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to Bosque County Spay Neuter, PO Box 225, Clifton, Texas 76634.

Harry was born on May 15, 1945 in Morgantown, West Virginia to Harry and Jesse Layton (Wolf) Strawser Sr.  Following high school, he attended West Virginia University, graduating with a Bachelor of Music degree in 1968; Harry continued his education at Tarleton State University, where he obtained a Master of Arts in Teaching degree. He was married to Becky Simmons on September 16, 1968. Harry served in the United States Air Force for eight years. He retired from the Office of Veterans Affairs in Waco in 1998.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church and was active in the church choir. Harry enjoyed taking care of his animals, watching his grandchildren participate in sports, and supporting the West Virginia Mountaineers.

Survivors include his wife, Becky Strawser, of Valley Mills; and their two sons: Jason (Belinda) Strawser of Clifton, Tx..and Billy Strawser of Valley Mills; and three grandchildren: Koby (Chasity) Strawser, Whitney (Jacob) Weatherly, Kennadi Strawser; and great grandchildren: Mark, Thomas, and Manuel Strawser,  Lincoln and Emmett Weatherly.
