Glenn D. Cox, age 88, of Mosheim passed away on August 7, 2017. The Celebration of Life service will be at the Mosheim Baptist Church at 3 P.M. on Saturday, August 12, 2017. Burial will precede the service at 2 P.M. at the Lanes Chapel Cemetery located CR 2602 in Bosque County, with Pastor Glynn Beaty and Bro. Robert Rachuig assisting under the direction of Foss Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
Glenn was born May 18, 1929, to Kirby and Lydia Kleibrink Cox. He completed his high school at Mosheim in 1947 and then attended Clifton Jr. College for one year. He married his high school sweetheart, Audrey Nell Jermstad on June 10, 1950. To this union two children were born: a son, Don, and a daughter, Glenda.
He was a member of Mosheim Baptist Church. In 1961 he was ordained a deacon at the Beverly Hills Baptist Church in Fort Worth serving faithfully for 56 years. He was a Mason, Scottish Rite, Shriner, and Eastern Star. After working as a machinist and tool designer in Ft. Worth for 27 years he returned to farming and ranching in Mosheim.
He was preceded in death by his parents, infant sister, Linda Gail, brothers; Leo and Kirby "Buddy", sister-in-law, Birchie Cox and son-in-law, Rollon Weaver.
Survivors: his wife of 67 years, a son Don and wife Kitty: daughter, Glenda Weaver: Granddaughters, Shannon and husband Ian Floyd, Meredith and husband Jason Liewehr. and Kellen Cox. Great-Granddaughters, Alexis and Natalie Floyd, Sophia and Caroline Liewehr, and Sister-in-law Dolly Cox.
Memorials may be given to the Mosheim Community Center C/O Pam Gunter 899 FM 215, Valley Mills, TX 76689.
