George Douglas "Doug" Reedy

February 6, 1955 – November 7, 2024

George Douglas "Doug" Reedy, age 69, passed away peacefully at his home on November 7, 2024, surrounded by his beloved family. Doug was born on February 6, 1955, in Rotan, Texas, and moved to the Waco area with his family in 1960.

Doug was a man of many passions. Known to many as "Red," he spent several years working as a bouncer at the Continental Cowboy, where he was a familiar and respected figure and known as a legend by many. He loved the thrill of poker, the peacefulness of fishing, and perfecting his golf swing.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Becky Reedy, and his children: Chad Reedy and wife Kelli, and daughter Kali Reedy and husband Jeremy Oliver. Doug's greatest joy came from his grandchildren: Tyler Reedy, Paxton Oliver, Kaydence Reedy, and Sylvie Reedy. He also leaves behind his loving sisters: Nelda Abbott, Marie Eaton, and Jana Stovall; his brother Gus Kreder Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Eaton and Geraldine Reedy, as well as his stepfather Gus Kreder. He was also preceded in death by his sisters Pearlene Compton, Terry Davis, and Twyla Wright.

A celebration of Doug's life will be held at a later date.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to everyone for their love and support during this time of loss. Doug's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
