George was born on March 23, 1981, in Temple, Texas, to George and Huberta (Dietrick) Potter. George's mother was a teacher and George inherited her love and ability to share knowledge. George was a 1999 graduate of Valley Mills High School. He was a former member of the Valley Mills Heritage Society, Valley Mills Cemetery Association and historian for his church.
George was a walking encyclopedia of knowledge about Bosque County and Texas History. He could easily converse with anyone. He was a deep thinker, skeptic, and outdoor wanderer. George loved anything classic—his friends would often reflect he was born 30 years too late. He was passionate about preserving history and capturing stories. He loved Classic rock and Country—the older the better. He loved old cars, especially his Wildcat. George is remembered by those who love him as kind, curious, and a storyteller. He was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church.
Anyone wishing to make donations for funeral expense may make payment directly at Foss Funeral Home or contribute directly to the go fund me campaign that is already set up.
George is preceded in death by his father George and mother Huberta. He is survived by many cousins, classmates, and friends.
