Frances Ballard Golden

Frances Louise Ballard Golden, age 93, formerly of Valley Mills passed away on January 20, 2018, at Clifton Lutheran Sunset Home. Funeral services will be 2 P.M. Saturday, January 27, 2018, at the First Baptist Church in Valley Mills with burial to follow at the Valley Mills Cemetery under the direction of Foss Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church. Memorials may be given to First Baptist Church of Valley Mills, or Sunset Ministries, Clifton, TX.
Frances was born on October 11, 1924 to Henry and Grace Ballard in Lockney, Texas. She was the last of surviving of ten siblings, She graduated from Lockney High School. Frances married Clarence Golden on May 11, 1947. They made their home for 64 years in the house that Clarence built in Valley Mills. They were married for 68 years when Clarence passed away on February 14, 2016. Frances was devoted to her family as a homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a dedicated worker in her church, First Baptist, and the community of Valley Mills. She was a charter member of the Valley Nmiulls Heritage Society and devoted 42 years of service. Frances loved traveling, camping, gardening and playing all kinds of games. She taught her grandsons the love of playing dominos, 42, and skip-bo. She loved playing Bridge with her group of friends for over 40 years.
Frances is survived by her daughter: Glenda Golden Bragg and husband Gilbert of Austin, TX, daughter: Janet Golden Dickens and husband Robert of Detroit, TX, three grandsons: Travis Bragg and wife Lytza of Round Rock, TX; Terry Dickens of Richmond, CA; and Lucas Dickens of Texarkana, TX, and great grandson, Braxton Bragg of Round Rock. She is also survived by brother-in-law Felix Golden and wife Betty and many nephews and nieces.
