June 11, 1955 ~ Aug. 7, 2022

Evelyn Hollingsworth, 67, of Valley Mills passed away at her home surrounded by family after a short illness Sunday, August 7, 2022. Visitation will be held at Foss Funeral Home Friday, August 12, 2022 from 5PM - 7 PM.   Funeral will be at Searsville Country Baptist Church on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 2:30 PM.  Interment will be at the Valley Mills Cemetery for Graveside service.

Evelyn was born in St. Louis, Missouri on June 11, 1955 to Allen R. & Mary L. (Howard) Lloyd. She attended school at Orchard Farm High School in St. Charles, Missouri.

At 19, she married the love of her life, Leonard Wright Hollingsworth. On December 28, 1974 in Waco, TX. Together they had two children. Later they moved to Valley Mills, TX, where she volunteered as an E.M.T. Over the years, they took in and cared for many. She attended T.S.T.I in 1985. She then attended Goodall Witcher School of Vocational Nursing and earned her L.V.N. in 1991. She also attened MCC and became an R.N. in 2002. Evelyn loved school and advancing her education.

Evelyn enjoyed crocheting, taking cruises, camping, fishing, and anything to do with water. She loved her family with every fiber of her being. She absolutely loved giving gifts to her loved ones. She was a member of Searsville Country Church in Valley Mills, TX.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, sister Patricia Terry, husband Leonard Hollingsworth Sr., son Leonard Hollingsworth, Jr., and grandson William Gage Hollingsworth.

She is survived by her brothers Alvin Lloyd, Mike Lloyd, Duane Lloyd, daughter Kitty Powell and husband Gary, daughter-in-law Kristen Jones and husband Denny, and grandkids Eric Moore, Jessica Chrisman, Shauna Hufstedler and husband Ryan, Allen Hollingsworth, Ashley Thayer and husband Ethan, Braydon Jones and Raven Jones, and great granddaughters Elizabeth Kay Hufstedler and McKenzie Drew Thayer.

In memory of Evelyn Hollingsworth, we ask that you wear bright and lively colors. It is a day of celebration for her and this is what she requested.
