Edwin "Mac" McDowell January 19, 1926 ~ April 19, 2013 Edwin Burton "Mac" McDowell,age 87, of Valley Mills, Texas, passed away Friday, April 19th in Senior Care of Hewitt. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 23th, at First United Methodist Church in Valley Mills under the direction of Foss Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Valley Mills Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be held 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church. Mr. McDowell was born January 19, 1926, in Bazette, Texas. He was the son of Earnest and Byrdie Jane (Cambell). While in Houston, he met and fell in love with Frances (Fran) Turner. They were married on January 6, 1945, in Florida before his World War II deployment in the Army Air Force. They had two daughters, Janey and Lee Ann. They moved to Valley Mills in 1957 to raise their family. Mac worked heavy machinery most of his life. After retired from Cal Con Construction he was part owner and manager of Speegleville Harbor and Marina. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers and sisters, his wife Fran, his precious grandson Jordan Lee Sears; and son-in-law Roger Kaiser. Left to treasure his memory are his two daughters, Janey Kaiser and Lee Ann Land; grandchildren, David Hinton and wife Michelle; Jennifer Warner and husband Matt; Josh Sears and wife Betsy; Jared Sears and wife Stephanie; grand daughter-in-law, Lacey Sears; eight great grandchildren, Sheyanne, Carter, Mason, Cross, Sloane, Luke, Lynlee and Landree. He is also survived by two step grand daughters, Terri Garza and husband Brad, Lorri Kaiser Dyer and husband Jon; and three step great grandchildren, Megan, Blake, and Paige; one great great grandchild Kiley; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Josh Sears, Jared Sears, David Hinton, Ronnie Gaskamp, Jon Dyer, Brad Garz and Blake Kucera.
