Durwood McAdams, age 80, of Clifton, Texas, entered into eternal rest at his home in Clifton, Texas, on Thursday, June 15, 2017.  Memorial services will be 2 P.M. Monday, June 19, 2017, at the Bosque County Cowboy Church, 7023 Hwy. 6, Meridian, Texas, under the direction of  Foss Funeral Home and Cremation Center.  Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church.

Durwood was born July 29, 1936, in Loraine, Texas, to Kendrick C. and Cynthia Mae (Compton) McAdams.  He married Ina Vay McCoy on February 3, 1955, in Guymon, OK.  He was a heavy equipment operator in the central Texas area before moving to Perryton, Texas, in 1975, where he was engaged in oilfield site preparation work.  He began his retirement in Loraine, Texas, where they lived for 9 years.  As his health began to decline they moved to Clifton, Texas, where they had always planned to retire.

The couple enjoyed a singing ministry in various churches, nursing homes and jam sessions wherever the Lord led them.

Durwood was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter Anita, brothers: K.C. Jr., Clifford, Sidney, Weldon Sr.; sisters: Opal Soules, June Cooper, Kathryn Barr, Doris Jones.

Durwood is survived by his wife Ina Vay; 4 sons:  Jimmy and wife Karen of Valley Mills, TX, Gary and wife Annette of Tehachapi, CA., Alan and wife Sabra of Perryton, TX, Mace and wife Peggy of California City, Ca.; daughter: Jalane Pointer and husband Michael of Paris, TX.; grandchildren:  Ronnie, Melissa, Austin, Andra, Breawn, Jared, Sharayah, Megan , Brady, Zac, Macie and Hutton Pointer,Kimberly, Melissa and Rebecca; great grandchildren: Treven, Ryder, Will, Emma, Luca, Madison, Graham, Benton, Dylan, and 3 more due in August. and special couple Terry &  Lora Sears of Meridian, TX
