Dorenda Jean (Arnold) Rogers

Dorenda Rogers, age 67, of Waco, Texas, passed away on March 10, 2020, at Providence Hospital after battling cancer of six months. Memorial service will be 2 P.M. Sunday, March 15th at the Valley Mills First Baptist Church.  Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Cancer for Kids.

Dorenda was born on January 12, 1953, to Erich and Betty Mathews-Arnold in Snyder, TX.  She graduated from Gorman High School, Class of 1971. She married Wesley Lane Rogers on 3/29/1974 at her parent's home in Gorman, TX.  They raised their three daughters in Granbury, TX where she retired after being a beautician for 36 years at age 55. Her favorite hobby was gardening, so she was very active as a Master Gardener in Parker, Tarrant, and McLennan Counties. She enjoyed all things "outdoors", cooking, baking, quilting, and most of all, her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Erich and Betty Arnold; father-in-law- Fred Roger; son-in-law Tom (LT) Redburn; nephew Grant Burgess.

Survivors include her husband Wesley Rogers of Waco, TX; daughters Gina Barton and husband Dennis of Weatherford, TX, Miriam Redburn of Granbury, TX, Lesley Garrison and husband Kris of Midlothian TX; Sister Cheryl Burgess and husband Billy of Granbury, TX; brothers Mark Arnold and wife Connie of Granbury, TX, Kirk Arnold and wife Melanie of Granbury, TX; sister-in-law Sha Penny and husband Bruce of Atlanta, TX; mother-in-law Joy Rogers of Atlanta, Tx; grandchildren Matt, Tyler, Adam, Layni, Asa, Zach, Abby, and Kayci; 9 Great-Grand Children, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
