Diana Ferguson, age 82, of Terrell, Texas, passed away Monday, April 13, 2020, at her home in Terrell, Texas. Private graveside services will be held at the Smith Family Cemetery in Valley Mills, Texas, with Pastor Pat Cummings officiating. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Patton Baptist Church under the direction of Foss Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
She is survived by her husband Eddie Ferguson in marriage of 59 years, a brother John Deithloff (wife Carmen) of Euless, Texas, a daughter Tina Knudsen (husband Chris) of Lockhart, Texas, and a son Paul Ferguson (wife Lori) of Grand Junction, Colorado. Diana had 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, all of whom she loved very much. She also has 6 nieces and nephews.
Diana was the daughter of Carl and Evelyn Deithloff, born March 9, 1938 in the parsonage house at St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Schroeder Texas.
Diana graduated Texas Womans University nursing school in 1960 and went on to work as a registered nurse for many years in hospitals and nursing homes. She obtained her Masters in Nursing in the mid-1970's. In the last years of her working career she worked in high schools as a health occupations teacher teaching students about the various careers possible in healthcare.
Her hobbies were golf, genealogy research of her family, sewing, quilting, embroidery and teaching Sunday school. She also loved being involved in the activities of their church College Mound United Methodist Church in Terrell TX. She taught Sunday School to other adults in her church, and volunteered at various church fundraising events.
Being the daughter of a Lutheran minister, she always knew her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Although we will miss her tremendously, we take comfort knowing that she is with him now enjoying eternal life.
