Obituary

Dewey Hyde, age 78, of Valley Mills passed away Sunday, September 4th in a Clifton Nursing Home. Funeral services will be 10 A.M. Thursday at the Valley Mills First Baptist Church with Rev. Pat Cummings and Rev. John Wheatley officiating. Interment will be at 2 P.M. Thursday at Rosemound Cemetery under the direction of Foss Funeral Home. Dewey was born November 17, 1932, in Mart, Texas. He was the son of James Otto and Ida (Ludwig) Hyde. Dewey married Ruth Crabb in 1956 in Waco. He was a graduate of Waco High and was employed 33 years at General Tire. Dewey was a Korean Army Veteran. He was a rancher and member of Southwestern Cattlemen's Association. Dewey was a long time member of Patton Baptist Church and had served as Sunday School superintendent for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, J.L. Lilburn, and 2 sisters, Maurine Key and Burnell Jurecka. Survivors include his wife Ruth Hyde; children: Stephney Gaidusek and husband Johnny of Valley Mills, Curtis Hyde of Valley Mills, Shelley Elkins and husband Don of McGregor; 3 brothers: Harold Hyde and wife Loretta, Bill Hyde and wife Velma, Roy Hyde and wife Alice; grandchildren: Justin and wife April, Westin , Magain, Ragain, Amanda Wilson, Randon, Cheynne, and Shawni; great grandchildren: Madalyn and Audrey. Pallbearers: Jeff Hyde, Jamie Hyde, Wayne Hyde, Jimmy Hyde, Justin Gaidasek, Westin Gaidasek, Michael Pierce, and Jesse Childers. Honorary Pallbearers: Pedro Villa and T.O. Luna
