Dana had a recent stay in the hospital for Bacterial Pneumonia but had gone back to work and was feeling much better. She was getting ready for work Friday morning when she unexpectedly left this world.
Dana was born in Clifton, Tx on December 29, 1973. She was the daughter of Daniel Linton Barnett (Dadder), and Janet Cannon Garland. Dana attended both Valley Mills and China Spring High Schools, graduating from China Spring in 1992. She loved growing up in the community of Rock Creek in China Spring. She never cared much for academics but loved spending time with her classmates and keeping Mr. Hayworth busy. She also had close relationships with her teachers all through school. Dana worked from the age 15, with her first jobs being at the Rock Creek General Store and Western Sizzlin. Most recently she worked for Home Place Interiors and considered her colleagues to be her work family.
It was at her first job out of high school, at First Central Credit Union, that she met the father of her children, Aaron Krumnow. Brittany Jo Krumnow and Hunter Goodson Krumnow were absolutely her whole world. She loved them and protected them fiercely and unconditionally. Dana was passionate about cheering for her children at their Valley Mills sporting events. She wholeheartedly dedicated herself to rooting for Brittany, Hunter, and all the Valley Mills Eagles. Everyone knew her thoughts on the way the game was going because she never held back! Dana was an extremely loyal and authentic friend. She was never a big fan of hugs, but she gave the best ones! She loved deeply and was intensely committed to the people who were lucky enough to call her a friend. Dana lived life in her own unique way and did not need material things to make her happy. Her "people", her family, her sports and her Chick-fil-A ice were enough. Dana was greatly fulfilled by the joy she found in her friends, laughter and "hoots". She was also a protective and loyal sister to Niki, and aunt to 6 nieces and nephews. Dana was devastated by the loss of her dad in February 2020. Also preceding her in death were her maternal grandparents Simon and Sis (Callan) Cannon, Robert and Mary Jo (Linton) Barnett, her uncle Bob Barnett, and cousin Dena Toten Gamble.
Left to cherish Dana's memory are her children, Brittany Jo Krumnow of Valley Mills, and Hunter Goodson Krumnow of Valley Mills, mother and stepdad Janet and Don Garland of Valley Mills, sister, Niki Jo Barnett Hodges of Valley Mills. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews whom she helped raise, Jason Hodges, Gage Hodges, Matthew Hodges, Blake Hodges, Paige Hodges, and Saige Hodges. Her best friend Kim Klaus, whose love and support she depended on daily, also survives her. Caleb Mees survives her along with the many life lessons (and card games) she shared with him. Finally, her best furry friend, Zoey.
Pallbearers will be Gage Hodges, Jason Hodges, Matthew Hodges, Blake Hodges, Willie Willis, Lane Willis, Logan Klaus, Adam Klaus, John Proctor, Cade Coleman, and Caleb Mees.
The Family would like to thank Selena Willis for everything she has done to make this experience as easy as it can be. She is very loved and appreciated by the family.
