Christopher Lowell Patterson
January 28, 1948~June 18, 2016
Christopher Lowell Patterson passed away June 18, 2016 in his home, surrounded by his family after a long battle with cancer.   Memorial services will be  10 A.M. Saturday, June 25, 2016, at the Valley Mills First Baptist Church under the direction of Foss Funeral Home and Cremation Center.  Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church.

Chris was born in January 1948 to John Rheuben Patterson and Flois Christine Hogue in Commerce, Texas. He graduated from East Texas State University, now A&M Commerce, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industry and Technology and was a member of the fraternity Sigma Chi.  Chris entered the United States Navy in 1971 and served as a Machinist Mate on the USS Daniel Webster, the USS Nathan Hale and the USS Gurnard.  He met and married his wife Janice Kay Holtman in Dallas, Texas. They were married for 36 years and had three wonderful daughters.

In 1986, Chris built his family home just outside of Clifton, Texas and he worked at many businesses in town over the years.  In his free time he enjoyed working outside in his wood shop or in one of his many gardens. He is remembered by his family for his sense of humor and ingenuity.  His daughters remember him for playing his guitar in the evenings, making pizza every Sunday night and introducing them to great musical artists including The Beatles and John Prine.   In his later years Chris enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and teaching them to play golf on his homegrown putting course.  Chris is preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Timothy Scott Patterson.

He is survived by his wife Kay; daughters Amber Patterson of Dallas, Krystal Patterson of Clifton, and Kelly Moon and her husband Ronnie of New Braunfels; grandchildren Quincie Fox, Tupac Fox and Oliver Moon; brothers John Patterson of Dallas, Marvin Patterson and his wife Christina of Houston and Tracy Patterson of Dallas; and many other family and friends.
