Chesley Phillips

Chesley Glendale Phillips, age 75, of Valley Mills, Texas, passed away peacefully from his earthly bounds, Sept. 11, 2016, at his home surrounded by family and friends. Graveside service with military honors will be held 11 A.M. Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016, at the Old Perry Cemetery near Moody, Texas, under the direction of Foss Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
Visitation will be Wednesday Sept.14, from 5 - 7 P.M. at Foss Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to any Veteran's Organization.
Chesley was born June 25, 1941, in McAllen, Texas, to Willard and Alma (Willingham) Phillips. He was a graduate of McGregor High School. He married Mary Welch on August 12, 1977 in Bro. Carl Jones house in Valley Mills. He was a Vietnam Army Veteran. While serving in Vietnam he was sprayed with Agent Orange which caused many of his health problems. Chesley had worked for the railroad and had retired from working for Bosque County in 2008. He loved fishing and gardening. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and soon to be great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers: Edward and Lester Phillips.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years: Mary Jane Phillips, sister: Virginia Mahan; children: Willard Daniel Phillips, Sandy White, Mary Jobe; grandchildren: Trent and wife Alli, Courtney, Caleb, and Rachel White, Angel Jobe and Mackenzie Bewley.
