Cheryl Kay Powers Tharp, age 76, passed on to her Lord and Savior Monday evening May 11, 2020, in a Whitney Retirement Center. Private graveside service will be held at a later date under the direction of Foss Funeral Home and Cremation Center.

Cheryl was born November 24, 1943 in Waco, Texas to Bill and Hazel Powers of Valley Mills. She attended school and graduated from Valley Mills Schools. Upon high school graduation Cheryl attended 4-C Business College in Waco and later became a licensed cosmotogogist and a published poet. She loved horses, dogs and all pets as well as riding motorcycles and long drives on old country roads.

Cheryl met William Lynn Tharp in the summer of 1958 as he worked pumping gas in Clifton. Lynn had a broken arm and she felt so sorry for him. Lynn became the love of Cheryl's life and they were married for 52 years until preceded by him in death.

Lynn and Cheryl have one son, Jason William Tharp, daughter-in-law Stephanie, 2 grandchildren Elias and Ivy and her 4 legged canine baby Mexia. She is also survived by brothers Billy, Benny and Brent along with many nieces and nephews.
