"To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven." Ecclesiastes 3:1

Chee Che, as most knew her, was a daughter, a sister, a mother, a niece, a cousin, a pastor, and a friend, but most of all she was a 'child of God'. And it was His call she answered.  Early in her life, Chee Che accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and God used her talent of singing to electrify audiences bringing joy and comfort to those who were blessed to hear her. Singing was not her only purpose because she also accepted God's call for pastoral ministry. She pastored many African Methodist Episcopal Churches in the Central Texas area, starting music ministries where previously there had been none. She also was instrumental in getting youth involved in ministry in these churches.

Chee Che married Ronald Swift on December 24, 1988 in Waco, Texas. They supported each other in their chosen career path, and Ron embraced his role as First Man of the churches Rev. Catline Swift pastored by actively participating in the Church's growth and development.  They made their home in Crawford, Texas where they resided until Ron's passing in February of last year. She was also preceded in death by her parents A.J and Inez Johnson and brother Albert Johnson.  Chee Che loved  and cared for  her family while always making great sacrifices for them. Her children and grandchildren will cherish her loving ways and smile

Left to mourn her passing are her three children: Adrain Cisco (Bryan), James (Andy) Sneed, and Avery Redd (Brenda). Twenty grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Also, her sisters Vivian Campbell (Robert), Faye Weddington, Daisy Tidwell, brother Martin Johnson, sister-in-law Carolyn Johnson, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Chee Che's final remarks: "I've won, I've won; the victory has come; Jesus fought the battle and I've won!"
