Bob was born on March 16, 1929 in Omaha, Nebraska to Charles E. Redfield and Clara Herman Redfield. He served 29 years in the United States Marine Corps attaining the rank of Captain after entering the service as a private. This unique feat allowed Bob to join the ranks of a select few Marines who are known as "Mustangs", Enlisted men who become Officers. On March 03, 1948, he married Delores Ann Carey. They raised three daughters and adopted three of their grandchildren. In 1996 he married Linda Sue Rogers. They adopted 2 of his great grandchildren. Bob was a unique individual. In the Marine Corps he was known as "the Old Breed". These individuals were known for their grit, sacrifice and ability to accomplish much with little. These traits exemplify Bob. A true warrior, Bob fought for our country at home and abroad. He also fought for his family and would make any sacrifice necessary for them. Those who knew him, knew that he was fearless and intelligent. He had the ability to do anything as long as someone had written a book on it. Bob was known to be very kind and generous. He was also known for a strong left hook that caught many evil doers by surprise! In his 90 years with us, he touched many lives. He will be remembered and missed by many. The Marine Corps motto is Semper Fi or Always Faithfull and Bob truly was! Bob was preceded in death by his first wife Delores.
