C. B.Tankersley Jr., age 85, formerly of Valley Mills, passed away on Dec. 24, 2019, in a Waco retirement center. Memorial service will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday, Dec. 28, 2019, at the Valley Mills First Baptist Church under the direction of Foss Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

C. B. was born on August 23, 1934, in Jacksonville, Texas, to Charles B. and Jewel (Messer) Tankersley Sr. He grew up in East Texas. His family moved to Valley Mills in 1951. He graduated from Valley Mills High School in 1952. He married Janice Turner in January of 1953. Two children were born to this union. C. B. Worked for Owen Illinois Glass Plant in Waco for 33 years retiring in 1993. As a young man he enjoyed riding bulls and horses. As an older man he loved riding mules and watching his grandkids play sports.

Survivors include son, Steve Tankersley and wife Brenda of Robinson; daughter, Jani Bryant and husband Roland of China Spring; brother, Jon L. and wife Jan of Moffat: grandchildren, Janessa Santry and husband Jonathan of Speegleville; Jenna Tankersley and fiancee' Nick Percivill of China Spring; Blake Bryant and wife Kristie of West; Brandon Bryant and wife Amanda of Wylie; and Blain of Lake Whitney: 4 great-grandchildren, Lucas and Cole Bryant of West, MacKenzie and Allison Bryant of Wylie.
