Chessley Arnold (C.A.) Wilburn
January 5, 1944 ~ June 26, 2023

C.A. Wilburn, age 79, of Valley Mills, Texas, passed away on June 26th with family by his side.  Graveside service will be held 10 A.M. Thursday, June 29. 2023, at the Valley Mills Cemetery with minister Pat Roberson officiating under the direction of Foss Funeral Home and Cremation Center.  For those wishing to sign the register may do so on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Chessley was born January 5, 1944, in Bellmead, Texas, to Dewey Chess and Willie Mae (Bundrant) Wilburn.  He attended Clarksville High School where he had perfect attendance for 12 years.  He attended 2 years of college before serving his country in the United States Air Force.

Later in his life he moved to Lake Whitney where he met Mary Lou Summerfield.  They were married January 3, 1997.  In 2006 he retired from Morgan Auto Supply and returned to Rocky Oaks where he enjoyed gardening and raising goats.  He served on the Board of Directors for the Valley Cemetery Association and was a member of the Bosque Valley Historical Society.

Survivors include his wife Mary Lou; a brother Roy & Beth Wilburn of Galveston; several nieces & nephews.
