Bobbie Laverne French

1935 ~ 2026

Bobbie Laverne French, 91 years old, passed from this life to her heavenly home on the morning of May 13, 2026.

She was born, Bobbie Laverne Patterson on April 20, 1935, to Teddy Joe and Velma Patterson of McLennan County Texas. Bobbie met and married Elmer Lee French when she was 17 years old. They married on December 12th, 1952. They were marred almost 54 years.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer. One sister, Betty Sue Murphy and her parents, Teddy and Velma Patterson.

She is survived by five siblings; Tommy Patterson and wife, Albina. Martha Ellis and husband, Mike. James Patterson and wife, Glenda and Patricia Hess. Three children; Rickie French of Valley Mills, Texas. Teresa Wilson of Weatherford, Texas and Jan Wilson and husband, Patrick. Twelve grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.

Bobbie worked at Hamburger/Cafe in McGregor, Texas. There she met Elmer (Slim) French. They moved to Bakersfield, California in 1958. In 1960, Jan was born while in California. Bobbie also worked a short time as a hair dressers assistant. In 1985, they moved back to Valley Mills, Texas. Bobbie worked for the Crawford ISD., in the cafeteria. In 2018, she moved into The Heckman Assisted Living, then on to The Lutheran Sunset Home. Bobbie loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

She and her family were members of several churches in the area; Oak Grove Baptist Church, Eagle Springs Baptist Church and Searsville Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be 11 A.M. Saturday, May 16, 2026, at the Valley Mills First Baptist Church. Interment will be at the Eagle Springs Cemetery near McGregor, Texas. Visitation will be 5 - 79 P.M. Friday at the Foss Funeral Home.
