Billy Lee Crawford

Billy Lee Crawford, age 73, of Mosheim, Texas, passed away Monday, January 14, 2019, in Houston, Texas.  Funeral services will be 10 A.M. Saturday, January 19, 2019, at the Top Hand Cowboy Church, Valley Mills, Texas, with Pastor Greg Moore officiating under the direction of Foss Funeral Home and Cremation Center.  Interment will follow at Terrell Cemetery with full military honors.

Visitation will be 5 - 7 P.M. Friday at Foss Funeral Home.

Billy was born on Oct. 26, 1945, Corpus Christi, Texas to Billy Joe and Ione (Moehrig) Crawford.  He was a 1964 graduate of Valley Mills High School.  He was a Vietnam Air Force Veteran where he was a Air Craft mechanic in the Air Force Regiment A1C.  He married Carol J. Hunnicutt on Sept. 6, 2003, at Womack, Texas.  He worked for Huck Fasteners for 40 years retiring in 2014.

When Billy met my mother he would always tell people he was as happy as a kid in a candy store. She was the love of his life. She kept him on his toes no matter how hard he tried to sit on the couch.  Anyone who knew Billy knew he was a primper. It took him longer to get ready than Mom. If we had to be somewhere at 11am you need to get Papa up at 7am to be ready on time.

Papa Billy was an animal lover, he and mom have and had several dogs. Poms and chihuahuas, he took great pride in caring for them. Brandy, Bambi, Cheyenne, and Amos are all with him now. Mandy, Sassy, Dakota, and Itzy will surely miss him until they meet again.  His love of chocolate was powerful, it included any kind of brownie available, fudge, chocolate anything. One of his favorites to hide and hoard was the box Brenda made him every Christmas with chocolate covered pretzels, oreos, and nutterbutters. He was preceded in death by his father Billy Joe Crawford.

Survivors include his mother:  Ione (Moehrig) Crawford; wife: Carol J Crawford; children:  Ricky Hunnicutt of Granbury, Texas, Brenda Lee and husband Dain of West, Texas, Brian Hunnicutt  of Lipan, Texas, Cathy Lunsford husband Travis of  Houston, Texas,  He was known to his grandkids and great grandkids as Papa Billy, grandchildren and great grandchildren:  Randall Hunnicutt wife Jenny son Rustin, Kyle Hunnicutt  children Catherine Dakota and Lane, Brandon and Jacob Hunnicutt, Patrick Howard and girlfriend Dixie Harper, Brooke Lunsford and fiancé Kerry Curry children Tripp and Ryleigh, Caitlin Lee fiancé Zach Andrus, Katy Jo Perry children Naveya and Khaleia, Jordon and Katy Lunsford, sister: Velma Knudson husband Roger, nieces: Kasi Hamm husband Toby children Trinity and Kyndall, Amy Blount husband Matthew children Brody and Bennett.
