Obituary

Bill Prince Nov. 1, 1928 ~ Oct. 10, 2012 Bill G. Prince, age 83, of China Spring passed away Oct. 10th at Hillcrest Hospital. Funeral service will be 2:30 PM Friday at the Wortham Bend Oak Grove Baptist Church under the direction of Foss Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Valley Mills Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 - 7 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Bill was born in Speegleville on Nov. 1, 1928, to Alvin Hill and Myrtle (Jacob) Prince. He gradated from Clifton High School, Clifton Junior College and received his masters from North Texas State University. He proudly served in the Marine Corps from 1946-1948. He married Nadine Wortham in 1953 at Oak Grove Baptist Church in China Spring. They had a wonderful life together for 59 years. Bill was a teacher and principal in Dallas for 34 years. He retired to their ranch in Wortham Bend in 1985. After his retirement he was active with the Bosque County Retired Teacher's Association and the Cross Country Water Supply Corporation serving as president for both. Bill never met a stranger. He loved especially his friends and family, his monthly dinners with the "Wild Bunch". He was proud of his work with children. He was an initial member of the United States Seagoing Marine Association. He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved grandson David; his precious twin sister Bobbie May; his brother Alvin Jr., sisters Dee Hoel, Juanita Dunn and Peggy Goodwin. Bill is survived by his wife Nadine Wortham Prince of China Spring, a daughter Patricia Gloria of China Spring; a son, Timothy Prince of Balch Springs, a brother: Victor Prince of Grandbury; sister Eva Lee Schultz of Clifton; grandchildren: Eric Procter of Mexia, J. P. Gloria of Houston, and Adrianne Prince of Balch Springs. Pallbearers are Steve Bartlett, Pete Gloria, J. P. Gloria, Leonard Wortham, Craig Prince, and Dave Rachuig.
