Bettye Speegle Holt Feb. 24, 1940~ Aug. 16, 2012 Bettye Speegle Holt, age 72 , of Waco, passed away on Aug. 16, 2012, at her home surrounded by family and friends. Graveside services will be held 11 A.M., Monday August 20th at the Valley Mills Cemetery under the direction of Foss Funeral Home. Visitation will be 4 - 6 P.M. Sunday, August 19th at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Valley Mills Cemetery Association, Providence Hospice or American Cancer Society. Bettye was born on Feb, 24, 1940 . She was the daughter of Louis and Jeanetta Fulp Speegle. She was a graduate 1958 of Valley Mills High School where she was involved in volleyball, baseball, and was a cheerleader. She was married to Don Holt on June 28, 1958, at the Valley Mills First Baptist Church. He preceded her in in death in 2011 She was formerly on the board of directors for the Waco Pony and Colt League. Bettye was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. Survivors include a son: Bryan Don Holt and wife Stephanie of Hewitt, 2 daughters: Janet Renee Jennings of Waco, Stacey Holt of China Spring; a brother: Charles Speegle and wife Jean of Valley Mills; 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
