Betty Mathis Wickstrom

June 10, 1933 ~ July 17, 2018

Betty Mathis Wickstrom, age 85, of Valley Mills, Texas, passed away on July 17, 2018, at Hillcrest Hospital.   A memorial service will be held 11 A.M. Saturday, August 4, 2018, at Searsville Country Church with Pastor Lynn Parks officiating under the direction of Foss Funeral Home and Cremation Center.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Betty was born on June 10, 1933, in Day, Florida.  She was the daughter of Benjamin and Caroline (Jones) Hightower.  She was married to James Mathis in 1961.  He preceded her in death in 2001.  She later married Dave Wickstrom in 2002.  Betty was a member of the Searsville Country Church and a long-time resident of the Valley Mills area.  She was preceded in death by a stepson, James Douglas Mathis; and a sister, Hazel Swanson Brink.

She is survived by her husband, Dave of Valley Mills; a step-grandson James Dunn Mathis and wife Cristy, and step-granddaughter Malorie Selah Mathis; step daughter-in-law Mary Lou Mathis, nieces, nephews and cousins.
