She was born on September 4, 1940 in Nolan County, the daughter of Floyd and Ruby (Abel) Vickrey. In 1956, she married her beloved husband, Billie Toten of 63 years. Bettie was influenced by her family to be a loving mother of seven children who adored her as much as she adored them. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren also. She enjoyed many hobbies such as scrapbooking, puzzles, baking, reading the Bible and listening to gospel music. She loved sitting on her patio and admiring her flowerbeds and taking in the beauty of nature. Her church family meant the world to her. She enjoyed their home visits when she could no longer get out much. Bettie will be missed so much by her children including Nita Coston, Nadine Bayer and her husband Kenneth, Billie Toten, Jr., Kathy Orand and her husband Rob, Brenda Armstrong and her husband Guy, John Toten and his wife Janet, grandchildren Clint Armstrong, Andrew Coston and his wife Beth, Ashley Toten, and Jeremy Falor, great grandchildren Gabriel Coston and Giovanna Coston.
The family would like to thank the Providence Hospice Place and Savana Lester and all the staff on the cardiac floor at Providence Hospital for their care and love for our mom.
