Barbara Ellen (Hatfield) Holland, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away October 20, 2022. There will be a viewing at Lucas Funeral Home in Keller, Texas on Thursday, October 27, 2022, from 6 to 8 PM. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at 12:00 PM noon in the Valley Mills Cemetery, Valley Mills, Texas, under the direction of Lucas Funeral Home.
Barbara was born on February 2, 1933 in Valley Mills, Texas. She graduated from Valley Mills High School in 1951. She later attended North Texas State College. She got her real state license, and also earned an Associate's Degree of Nursing from Tarrant County Junior College in 1979. She practiced Pediatric nursing. She was a gifted dancer. Her mother said she named her after the English ballad 'Barbara Allen'.
She met her husband of sixty-four years, David W. Holland, then a Captain in the U.S. Air Force, in Waco, Texas in 1950. They were married November 6, 1954 in Valley Mills, after his return from duty in Korea. They moved to Ft. Worth, Texas in 1962.
She is survived by three children, Jeff Holland, Susan Holland Schaub and Kathryn Holland, and was blessed with eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents E.K. Hatfield, Lilly Mae (Powers) Hatfield, her brother Gary Hatfield, husband David W. Holland, and her grandson Peter Schaub.
