Audrey Nell Cox
December 9, 1931 ~ January 22, 2025
Audrey Nell Cox of Mosheim passed away on January 22nd after a long and blessed life.
Audrey was born on December 9, 1931, in Turnersville Texas to Ethel and Omer Jermstad. After graduating valedictorian at Mosheim High School, she married the love of her life and fellow classmate, Glenn Dale Cox, on June 10, 1950, and was a devoted wife for 67 years. Audrey worked as an executive secretary at General Dynamics (Lockheed Martin) in Fort Worth for 25 years before retiring to Mosheim. As a woman of strong, unwavering faith, she was an active member of Mosheim Baptist Church.
Audrey had a deep love for the Lord as well as a cold Dr. Pepper and a challenging game of dominoes. In Acts 20:35, Paul tells the Ephesian elders it is more blessed to give than to receive. Audrey had a giving heart and loved her family unconditionally. In return, she was loved by her family and many friends whose lives she touched. She possessed a quiet, yet unyielding strength, tempered with a gentle, loving spirit. She also had a contagious laugh that could brighten anyone's day and a knack for storytelling.
Audrey is survived by her children, Don Cox (spouse Kitty Cox) and Glenda Weaver. Grandchildren Shannon Floyd (husband Ian Floyd), Meredith Liewehr (husband Jason Liewehr) and Kellen Cox. Great granddaughters Alexis Floyd, Natalie Floyd, Sophia Liewehr and Caroline Liewehr.
A graveside service will be held at Lanes Chapel Cemetery, FM 2302. 7 miles northwest of Valley Mills) on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 10:30AM. A church service will immediately follow at 11 AM at Mosheim Baptist Church under the direction of Foss Funeral Home & Cremation Center.
Audrey will lie in state at Foss Funeral Home on Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM January 31st for anyone who would like to sign the register.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Mosheim Community Center, a place that holds special meaning to the Cox family as Glenn was one of its builders. Donations may be sent in her name to Poston Fellowship Hall c/o Colleen McCormick, 201 CR 3140, Valley Mills, Texas 76689
May light perpetual shine upon her.
