Aubrey Blackford
April 26, 1938~Dec. 28, 2015

Aubrey Blackford Jr., age 77 of Valley Mills passed away suddenly Monday, December 28th in a Clifton Hospital.  Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Thursday, December 31, 2015, at the Valley Mills First United Methodist Church.  Interment will follow at the Valley Mills Cemetery with military honors under the direction of Foss Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 6 - 7 P.M. Wednesday, Dec. 30st,  at Foss Funeral Home.  Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, PO Box 277,  Valley Mills, Texas  76689.

Aubrey was born April 26, 1938, Russellville, Kentucky, to Aubrey and Rosa Lee (Harlow) Blackford.  He served 6 years in the U.S. Marines Corp.  He moved to Valley Mills in 1973.  He was very active with the Boy Scouts and the Baseball Association.  He was a very active member of the First United Methodist Church where he served on numerous committees. He also served on the Valley Mills City Council for many years. His greatest enjoyment was watching his kids and grandkids participate in there activities. He also loved gardening. He married Deadra Hicks Denton on April 2, 1994.  Aubrey Loved God, Family, and Country (& KY Basketball).

Aubrey was preceded in death by his parents Aubrey and Rosa Lee Blackford, wife Georgeana Winn & grandson Garrett Trammell.

He is survived by his wife Deadra; Sons Doug & wife Diane, grandchildren Sherilyn, Steven, Madilyn and Brian; Jim & wife Jeannie grandsons Ryan and Reid; and Marvin & wife Meghan grandsons Jaxon and Gunner; Step children Brandee & husband Randy Trammell grandson Harrison; Barry & wife Cora Denton and grandchildren Delanie, Riley, and Kassidy; Ashley & Odis Carpenter grandchildren Kolbey and Kylee. sisters Mae Walters, Betty Lowe, Shirley Parsons. Mable Brown; and a host of nieces and  nephews.
