Allene Luedeker Finstad, age 80, of Crawford passed away Thursday, November 19, 2015, at Westview Manor in McGregor, Texas. Funeral services will be 10 A.M. Monday, November 23, 2015, at the First United Methodist Church in Crawford with Pastor Robyn Young officiating. Interment will be at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery under the direction of Foss Funeral Home.

Allene, the daughter of Charlie and Lydia (Weiss) Luedeker, was born on July 28, 1935 at the family home near Crawford, Texas. Allene graduated from Crawford High School in 1954. She was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church of Crawford. Allene married JM Finstad on March 15, 1997. Allene was employed by Crawford ISD for 31 years, retiring in 2002.

Faith, family and friends were very important to her. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren in sports and was their most faithful fan. Allene and JM enjoyed camping and spending time with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and nephew, Sammy Luedeker.

She is survived by her husband, JM; daughters Connie Schmalriede and husband Michael and Deanna Coia all of Crawford. Grandchildren Mason Schmalriede, Cassie Aelvoet and husband Chris, Zachary Coia and great grandchildren Cade and Colten Aelvoet. One brother Charles Luedeker and wife Mary,of Garland. Nephew Buddy Luedeker and wife Lauri. Sister in law Jenny Lu Skidmore. Brothers in law Gene Finstad and wife Kathy and Douglas Finstad and wife Sharon. Other survivors include Keith Finstad and wife Brenda and their children Jamey and wife Haley and Breann. Sherry Kelm and husband Delbert and their children Mandy Vanetta and husband Tommy, son Easton, and Maegan Denard and husband Dustin and sons Cooper and Camden and Kevin Finstad.
